description
This editorial design project reimagines three influential but forgotten historical texts by pioneering women activists: Emma Goldman, Rosa Luxemburg and Louise Michel.
The cover design uses their historical photographs, while torn paper elements on the book jackets reference the attacks these women endured during their political careers.
This project aims to create a cohesive visual system that honors the radical spirit and intellectual rigor of these early 20th-century political theorists while making their work accessible to contemporary readers.
Three hardcover books with textured covers in black, dark brown, and red, displayed on a light surface.
Book titled 'The Accumulation of Capital' by Rosa Luxemburg shown as a cover, jacket, and open pages featuring black-and-white portraits of Luxemburg.
Open book showing pages titled 'MARX'S SCHEME OF SIMPLE REPRODUCTION' and 'THE CIRCULATION OF MONEY' with torn black-and-white photographs partially visible.
Five book covers laid flat on a gray surface, featuring black and white portraits of Louise Michel and one cover showing a protest scene with red flags.
Open book with a full-page illustration titled 'C4. THE MAKING OF A REVOLUTIONARY' showing a crowd with red flags, next to a closed black book titled 'MEMOIRS OF LOUISE MICHEL WRITTEN BY HERSELF.'
Book cover and layout spreads for "Anarchy & Other Essays" by Emma Goldman featuring a black and white portrait of Goldman, red background panels with text, and an open spread showing an illustration titled 'The Psychology of Political Violence.'
Torn black-and-white photograph of Emma Goldman with eyeglasses beside a red book titled 'Emma Goldman'.
